Integral holon in Kyoto...ET phone home!

Greetings from Kyoto!  I joined I-I a couple of weeks ago and want to use this space to say "hello" and introduce myself... I'm a happy holon of Swedish-German-Irish-French ancestry (interesting relatives include Oswald Spengler), born and adopted in San Rafael, California, trained among other things as a homeopath, psychotherapist, polarity therapist and educator, and currently living in Kyoto, Japan (lived in Brighton-Hove, England prior to that, but grew up mainly between northern Germany, southern Arizona, and southern California) with my Japanese wife, and where I work as an assistant professor, visiting clinician (Energy Psychotherapy, Counselling, CAM/EMD, and Integral care as much as possible), program director, and 'extra' and bit actor in Japanese TV, movies, and commercials... for less earnings than the average UPS driver makes in the United States.  The only works by Ken Wilber I have had the pleasure of reading are SES, A Brief History of Everything, Integral Psychology, Integral Life Practice, and am now starting Grace and Grit... .

Having had a quick scout around, I was surprised to hear of Ken's seizures and so glad to hear he's O.K.... and also noticed a comment by someone hoping for homeopathic perspectives on his condition.  Very very complicated homeopathy is, however... in fact, I am hoping to get through the hypothesized "Informational Ground" knot of how transduction and cross talk occurs between substance, psyche, soma at different potencies... how, rather, the potentization process appears to render a UR substance translateable (transductable) into different levels of UL experience across different and usually very specific streams depending on the potency level and miasmatic discrasia it works through.  I will send Ken an article [Journal of the American Institute of Homeopathy] I wrote about this a while back... but anyone that has thoughts on it... most welcome they will be!

I also understand that some work has been published on bringing some sanity back to the runaway multicultral madness withing the field of Counselling Psychology (I too wrote an article on it with a co-author and published it [Counselling Psychology Quarterly], incorporating basic themes from Ken's work, but editing rendered much of it lost...took three years to actually come out)... and if anyone has any articles they would be kind enough to recommend in that area, I'd love to hear about it!

Besides those two, I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of any published work on applying the AQAL Integral model in public health, particulary public mental health.  Again, if so, please give me a holler!

If anyone knows of a university in Germany where anyone might be doing a PhD applying the Integral Model in healthcare or psychology... yup, would love to hear from you.  (repeating that sound silly but I'm just zapping all this down as fast as my fingers can type)

Finally, I would REALLY like to hear from anyone interesting in teaching on a new Integral Health Studies undergraduate program currently being built (if so, please e-mail me at cjohannes@akamaiuniversity.us).  This is also something I will need to run by the core I-I Integral University folks... and if anyone in that department happens to be reading this, please send me a line.

Hmmm... you know, it snowed this morning in Kyoto... odd really... weather forecast said it would be partly sunny (whatever that means) to sunny and continue unseasonably warm... an unseasonably warm that Al Gore no doubt did not fail to notice on his recent trip out here... been like spring for weeks.  Interesting times, they are.

Will sign off now, but want to say I'm thrilled to be a member and look forward to being connect with the I-I community!

    Toot toot and Otsukaresamadesu!

    Christopher Johannes
