Re: Return of the Prodigal Son

    Magic ecstacy, mynas walking,
    Maui morning, birds all talking.
Lost my mind at the edge of the lake,
Dropped my atoms for a piece of cake.

I'm going insane, I'm going mad,
I'm a happy hippy in Baghdad.
    Rama-lama dingaling-ding-dong,
    Sing along to Ram'oShamu's song!

Re: Return of the Prodigal Son

For thy great beauty I love thee madly,
    Thou stealthy, unattainable woman.
In thy sublime and arrogant royalty
Thou hast fallen into the forms of souls.

You're just too damned intelligent, you bitch.
You know you can have it all your own way,
So that's exactly how you run the show.
Well, I am just so impressed by it all.

I must confess that I drink and smoke pot.
I won't pretend to be something I'm not.
But I am a yogi who meditates
    And, totally wasted, pontificates.

With them the Seed of Wisdom did I sow,

And with my own hand labour'd it to grow:

I drink and take drugs, (but no pot)
I also have sex (when I can) a lot
    I am a girl who self-medicates
    And, totally wasted, masturbates.

Re: Return of the Prodigal Son

    Thanks, Helene.

Liz, there was something I always did like about you and never could put my finger on it. Thank you for your candor. You and Jane, and even the magisterial Balder, all seem to have alluded to my apparent rejection of sex. I should be the last person on the planet ever to give that impression. Nothing could be further from the truth. One of the things I most appreciate about this forum is its acceptance and openness. But I admit that I do have an extremely negative religious bias against sex, and the only way that I have been able to resolve the contradiction has been to just accept it as goddess worship and at the same time see it as utterly insignificant in the scale of spiritual realization.

Okay, now that I'm wasted I can say more. I'd rather write this in verse but you may not take it seriously. I've known a couple of woman saints. The real thing. Sexual they most definitely were not.

Re: Return of the Prodigal Son

I am on retreat right now.  It is here at the River Song…all of us are incarnate in our goddess form for this time, over the autumn equinox, moving into darkness….ever opening in surprising ways.  Seven of us…..

Our elder goddess came for the first two days.  She is seventy seven.  And I tell ya, she is sexy! Beautiful, gentle, lively, lovely Jean: “Some sexy wha’!’ as they would say in these parts.….we sat out in the Innu tent the first night of this retreat, drumming and chanting……the first primordial beat, the first sound…..it is all sex…..  We have been talking about sex too, Jean is so lovely and clear, shining bright and so so precious ….and I am healing ….some are not as bold as me, but every one of us has a spark and a burning….luminescence….we are all starting to shine from the inside out…..

Ramsses, whether you can hold this or not, believe me, every goddess in the world is sexual…..and so is every god….the word made flesh.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS...not even the saints you've known.

Sometimes I think that sex is really all there is….not just the act of intercourse, but all of it, the attraction, the recognition, the magic of touch, looking deeply into the soul of the Beloved, looking through a crowd for the one who is looking back…..and mostly we are starving….starving in a land of plenty…..thirsty at the oasis…..and all around there is the fluorescence around all this beauty, bursting at the seams……confused and puzzled by the open secret.

‘I am yearning, I am burning, I am on fire.’

I am Presbyterian by birth…..all my sisters too…..bursting out of our skins….every single one of us-- goddesses all…..

“Learn to see what is before you and the rest will be revealed.”

Re: Return of the Prodigal Son

Jane is thoroughly correct in what she says, Ramsses.

Often, when I respond to you, it's not a conscious choice to say this or that. It's a sense that I have. You could call it, crudely, a bullshit detector, and in more mundane ways, that's how it functions on a day-to-day basis. But I would also say it's an impulse to descend, when I see something unbalanced, or ascending without integration. In your case, I sometimes see this effort to sanitize or idolize when that would mean denying the wholeness of Woman's being. That just distances you from what you seek!

Just to be clear, I hadn't put it into words myself before now, and my responses were not coming from a rational place in my mind. It's more like cooking a soup-you taste it, and then decide what it needs without really thinking.

Then Jane put it into words, and my thoughts fell into place. You may come across someone who seems to be not overtly sexual. But what she has done is to sublimate that energy-she's redirected it into what she's decided is a more useful path. But she's done that consciously and purposefully, and is thoroughly aware of her own existence as essentially sexual in nature.

I think when you really are able to get that you'll find that a lot of the seeming contradictions in your life will resolve themselves. We'll see! I'm grateful to be witnessing this unfolding of all of us.

Apologies for the not-quite put togetherness of this post-I'm still working on my first cup of tea.

    Liz

Re: Return of the Prodigal Son

yah, lets blame god for creating eve and adam ...and their sexuality!

i'm sure yous' are familliar with Thunder , Perfect Mind  , a poem of the Nag Hammadi fame, "spoken in the voice of a feminine power"

    .

For I am the first and the last.

I am the honored one and the scorned one.

I am the whore and the holy one.

I am the wife and the virgin . . .

    I am barren one,

and many are her sons. . . .

I am the silence that is incomprehensible. . .

I am the utterance of my name.

Pranams to the goddesses. My wife agrees with you that women's sexuality has been denied.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that anyone's nature is ultimately sexual.

Ladies, here's the very bad news. The primary dynamic that drives reincarnation is, not surprisingly, sex. I have an absolute horror of ever coming back. And, so help me God, I won't.

    I'm done.
