Excellent.
I have found this a favorite tactic of American males - whenever they want to intimidate or "one-up" someone (and this game goes on all day long in the marketplace), they try and toss in words lacking normative content and when possible, words that have many syllables when simple words would do just as well.
"Ma'am" your interior illumination switch seems to be malfunctioning."
"We'll need to run a program analysis on the preferential paradigm."
Don't we all fall prey to this tendency - to insinuate that we are operating on a higher level or order of organization which requires vaguer terms to describe our world?
