    Whither Eve Ensler?

It's been many moons since this IN bio of Eve Ensler appeared, along with the notation "Appearance on Integral Naked soon to be announced."

Are we ever going to hear Eve?  Why is it taking so long?

Eve!  Eve!  Eve!  Come on, I-I, you know you wanna bite that apple.

Good call. I have been puzzled as well (although sheepishly silent). Hmm

I wonder how many others have been sheepishly wondering?  Smile [:)]

In the other integral forum I hang out in there was a great discussion on Eve Ensler's book The Good Body a while back.

Way back on December 23, 2006, I wrote:
I'd love to see more discussion on this important topic which affects so many women I know and love.  How can an integral approach inform and illuminate this issue?  And, what the hell ever happened to the promised Eve Ensler dialog on Integral Naked?  Her “appearance on Integral Naked” has been “soon to be announced” for quite a while now, and I've been really looking forward to it.

Wow, so it has to have been at least a year and a half since that bio was first posted.  Indifferent [:|]

In that post I went on to say:

This is an issue I've thought about a lot at various times; it seems like all the women I've loved and been close to have had this kind of issue, and it feels frustrating and sad to say to someone, “You are so beautiful” and see that they aren't really taking that input to heart, that it's bouncing right off their shield of culturally induced self-loathing, feelings of inadequacy, or what have you.

I think of a friend of mine, a very beautiful woman who could not see herself as beautiful; when she was growing up her mother used to say to her things like, “You're so ugly!  You'd better do well in school, because it's obvious that you'll never get by on your looks.”  Even without that kind of brutal negativity, there's no shortage of media images showing what women should look like, and in various ways giving the message “you're inadequate.”  Even women who more-or-less fit the “ideal” often are very self-critical.

What do others think of all this?

Damn it, you weren't supposed to notice that bio page.  I took her off of our "featured guest" list over a year ago.  She was actually one of the first faces we had on Integral Naked, way back in 2003 when this forum was still called "Intercourse" (anyone remember that??)

I am not saying she will not be on the site in the future, but i am also not saying that she will.  I guess i am saying that i have no idea what is going on with the possibility of an Eve/Ken talk.  But i will ask him next time i see him.

In the meantime, Arthur, stop looking at webpages that you aren't supposed to see....  ^_^

LMAO.  Hey dude, I notice (and remember) stuff - especially if vaginas are somehow involved.  Hmm [^o)]

And yes, I do fondly remember when this forum was named "Intercourse."  There was much wailing and knashing of teeth when the name changed - until people told me to knock it off.

I am not saying she will not be on the site in the future, but i am also not saying that she will.  I guess i am saying that i have no idea what is going on with the possibility of an Eve/Ken talk.  But i will ask him next time i see him.

Ah, part of my ongoing kosmic lessons in ambiguity and nonattachment.  I'm down with that.  Well, I got to share a bunch of cool stuff about Eve, and for what it's worth, there is a lot of enthusiasm for a dialog with her - and seriously, would Ken ever have a better excuse to say "cunt" on an integral naked dialog?  I don't think so!

And tell Ken I said hi (so he can respond, "huh, who?")

In the meantime, Arthur, stop looking at webpages that you aren't supposed to see....  ^_^

lol.  Stop leaving them lying around then...

<sigh>  I'll do my best.  Great, next you're probably going to say no unauthorized use of imaginary office furniture.  Stick out tongue [:P]

    spirals,
    Arthur
